Bend It Like Connor

The soccer ball breaks out and Connor dashes to the right, he is ahead of the pack and heading for the goal. He kicks! He scores! And the crowd goes ...and the crowd goes... actually the crowd goes strangely silent for a moment, but the bursts into a cheer anyway. You see, Connor scored his first goal today, but in the other team's goal! Oh well, only three goals were scored in the game today and our Connor scored one of them!

Thus, it begins. (Dis)Organized sports for Connor. He is in the 3-4 year age group at the YMCA Youth Indoor Soccer League. When we play at home, his favorite soccer move is to say, "Look over there!" and then he kicks the ball into my goal when I fall for it again. I'm pretty sure this trick won't work in league play, but maybe he should try it! We have small portable goals in our lower driveway for practice. He calls the goals "temples". Connor and I like it when Laura and Noelle play too! I'll try to post some pictures soon.

We've got to take some pictures, especially now that he's got a position - The Goalie!

If only his team could score, with him preventing the other team from scoring, they could be the champs of the league! :)
